By combining classroom data from tens of thousands of students with adult tax records
study analyzing the long-term impact of kindergarten classroom environments on adult income analyzed the long-term effects of the STAR Education Experiment in Tennessee. 幼儿园教室环境对成人收入的长期影响研究 How KG Class Affects Salary By combining classroom data from tens of thousands of students with adult tax records, the study explored the role of early childhood education environments in the future. The study found a strong correlation between kindergarten test scores and key life outcomes such as income at age 27, college acceptance rates, and retirement savings. While the direct impact of class size on income is not statistically precise, smaller class sizes significantly improved college attendance. Furthermore, students randomly assigned to highly qualified teachers or high-quality classes (measured by peer performance) experienced higher economic returns in adulthood. Although the academic advantage of quality education gradually diminishes in the later grades of elementary school, its shaping of non-cognitive abilities (such as responsibility and initiative) is enduring and ultimately translates into a competitive advantage in adulthood. Therefore, improving the quality of early childhood education has significant and far-reaching economic value in enhancing individuals' long-term quality of life.
