Small Cinemas: The Ultimate Weapon Against State Amnesia (You Won't Believe What They Reveal)
Conflict and Controversy in Small Cinemas
Think Hollywood is the only game in town? Think again. This video dives into the explosive world of 'small cinemas'—low-budget, fiercely independent films from marginalized regions like Catalonia, Northern Ireland, and the Basque country. Based on the academic book *Conflict and Controversy in Small Cinemas* by Janina Falkowska and Krzysztof Loska, we uncover how these films are not just movies; they're weapons of self-defense against state-sponsored forgetting. From Spanish death squads to the hidden costs of open borders, we expose the raw, untold stories that mainstream media ignores. Watch to see how a single beam of light in an abandoned theater can rewrite history.
