Is the Republican Party Really at War with Science? The Shocking Truth

Looking for a Fight: Is There a Republican War on Science?

John Holbo

Is there a real war on science, or is it just politics? In this video, we dive into John Holbo's book 'Looking for a Fight: Is There a Republican War on Science?', which emerged from a critical symposium on Chris Mooney's controversial 2005 bestseller. We break down the core arguments: how the right systematically distorts science for political gain, from dismantling the Office of Technology Assessment to weaponizing 'sound science' against climate change and evolution. But it gets deeper—contributors reveal a 'parallel universe' of fake knowledge, authoritarian irrationality, and cultural warfare. We also tackle the shocking defense of intelligent design as 'legitimate science.' By the end, you'll understand why this fight isn't just about facts—it's about power, money, and control. Watch now to uncover the hidden forces shaping what we believe is true.
